Method, sources & limitations

Mifflin–St Jeor estimates resting energy using weight, height, age and the equation’s male/female coefficient. We multiply by a rough activity factor (1.2, 1.375, 1.55 or 1.725). These categories approximate activity, not measured energy expenditure. Calories are rounded to the nearest 50; macros to the nearest gram.

This example uses 4 kcal/g for protein and carbohydrate, and 9 kcal/g for fat. Adult reference ranges are protein 10–35%, fat 20–35%, and carbohydrate 45–65% of energy. Athletes and people with health conditions may need different targets. Ask a registered dietitian for personalised advice, or if these equation categories do not fit your circumstances.

The complete picture

Every reported result.

Per 100 g of the submitted multigrain atta, not per 100 g of cooked roti or dosa. Preparation changes the weight and nutrient concentration.

Percentages reported for protein, carbohydrates, fat and total sugar are shown as grams per 100 g. Energy is reproduced as reported by the laboratory.

No vitamin results were included in these reports.
